Welcome to Birth and Baby School...
Kayleigh Burton offers parenting courses, active birthing classes, baby classes and postnatal classes in the East Leeds and Selby area.
My name is Kayleigh Burton
Expectant and new parents come to my antenatal and baby classes from across the Leeds, York, Selby and Tadcaster area, including Garforth, Kippax, Sherburn, Hillam, Monk Fryston, Knottingley, South Milford, Hambleton and more.
I share my time between caring for my own young family, and building up this wonderfully supportive community of parents. My baby and antenatal classes offer you the full continuity of care and support, from the early weeks of pregnancy, all the way through to a cruising baby!
Welcome to Birth and Baby School!
At Birth and Baby School, I offer classes for birth, for baby, and (perhaps most importantly) for you.
My antenatal class offerings can be booked as standalone options, or together (for the ultimate in preparation!). Whilst my Parent Prep provides you with 14.5 hours of all-inclusive labour, birth and baby prep (designed to attend with your birth partner), Active Birthing Classes offer something a bit different - movement, education, breathing and relaxation (perfect for all expectant mamas).
Once your little one arrives my Tinies (Baby Massage) class is the ideal way to ease both baby and mum through the precious fourth trimester - combining baby massage, gentle postnatal movement, pelvic floor strengthening work, and relaxation.
Once baby is a little older, you will graduate to Wrigglers, perfectly suited to a more inquisitive outlook - singing, rhyme, sensory exploration and story, a wonderful way to enjoy an hour of fun with your babe.
Support for new parents is integral to what I do and underpins the ethos of my classes. Aside from the support in the classes themselves, you'll also find me available between and after classes finish. In addition, I really want to help you find your people, and have spent a lot of time community building - helping you make connections (and peer support) from pregnancy and beyond.
I want you to feel excited and ready to welcome your new arrival, and so this comprehensive workshop series is designed to empower and equip expectant parents with all the education, tools and support you could need, as you prepare confidently for birth and the early days of caring for your new baby. The course draws on elements of active birth, parentcraft, and traditional antenatal classes, and delivers this to you in a package of easily digestible chunks!
Active Birthing classes offer you something a bit different. This weekly class combines yoga-based movement, breathing techniques, antenatal education and guided relaxations, making them a wonderful way for pregnant ladies to stay mobile, learn about their changing body and prepare for a confident birth. Classes draw on elements of active birth, pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing and antenatal education. Suitable from 14 weeks of pregnancy, through to birth.
A weekly postnatal class for mum and baby where we will learn how to use baby massage and movement to aid calming, soothing and connection with your baby. Covering everything from easing infant ailments, aiding their development, adapting to your postnatal body and easing in to your new role among friends. Perfect from as soon as you are ready to get out and about, through to around 4 months.
A weekly class for mum (or other caregiver) and baby, where we will use a variety of tools such as baby massage, baby yoga, rhythm, rhyme, story and baby sensory experiences to aid your baby’s development, your connection and have fun together! Ideal for babies aged from around 4 months up to 11 months.
“Kayleigh is the nicest lady you’ll ever meet and really prepared us for all things birth and baby. We never felt judged about our circumstances (we found out very late that we were pregnant) and Kayleigh supported us all the way. I would definitely recommend these classes for any parents to be!"
"Kayleigh has been a hugely positive influence on my pregnancy and parenting journey. The antenatal classes were packed full of useful information and were extremely helpful for both my husband and me, and I found the birthing classes really calming and grounding."
“I did a 6 week birthing course with Kayleigh, I am so glad I did. Having a toddler I never felt the time to connect with my baby and this pregnancy. These classes gave me the time I needed.”
